    Hey,
My name's Nick, and I'm twelve. I play LOTS of video games and like soccer. In My Brother Sam is Dead, I would think that it would be better being a patriot since even though it might seem safer on the British side, the patriots have a right to rebel against them, especially with the taxes the British put on them. I would also say that Sam worries me too since he could die if he goes to war.

For chapter 2 in My Brother Sam is Dead, I think that what Mr. meeker is talking about says that no matter how much we fight, everything might still be the exact same in the end. There wasn't really anything in this chapter that made me felt excited, yet I have a feeling something big is still to come.

If I were in Tim's place, I would never tell my father about Sam coming home because there would probably be a lot of frustration, and Sam would never hear the end of it. Betsy's role so far in the story is just making sure that Sam is safe and keeping secret about him. I think that Betsy seems kind of sneaky because she's keeping secret about Sam.

In chapter 4, I have a feeling that Tim's father would say after when he told Sam to come back is that he just wanted him to come home and to stay safe from the war.

I would say that chapter 5 was just Tim talking about the war and how people told him stories about it, except for when Mr.Heron wanted Tim to deliver a message, yet Tim's father did not want him to go at all, just because he already has Sam involved in the war and he doesn't want Tim to get involved at all.

I thought that most of chapter 6 was about Tim trying to send the letter he got from Mr. Heron. I was surprised at the end of the chapter where that all the letter said was that they could rely on Tim if he sent the letter successfully.

The war is making trade much harder for them, they don't have as many rights as they did before, and it is causing their family is starting to fall apart, especially with Sam in the war. This chapter makes me feel that this only the beginning of many bad things to come from the war.

Tim really thinks of the war as something in the way. The war is also making him scared. Tim is not really sure what side he would be on the war either. My emotional reaction in this chapter is that Tim knows that many things are going to change because of the war.

For chapter 9, I am not really sure what happened to Mr.Meeker, but I think that they could have killed him. I think it will make Tim feel really worried and scared about travellling, the war and even the cow boys. In this chapter I felt confused on what the cow boys did to Mr. Meeker.

What I think Tim means in chapter 11 about something big is that Sam thinks that he is in a very major and a really important thing. I thought that there wasn't a lot going on this chapter, probably except when they hurried the man to safety after getting seriously wounded.

What I think the statement "In war the dead pay the debts for the living" means is that those people who fought in wars and died for us gave us what we have today and we wouldn't have these things such as freedom without them. I think that it was a bit sad in this chapter figuring out that father had died on one of the prison ships.

I think that Sam's death was ironic because he was noticed as trying to steal cattle from his own farm. I would say Sam and Mr.Meeker's death were a bit the same because they both died because of the war.

In the epilogue, I think that no matter what else would happen, the United States would have never been the same without the war.
