Hi everyone, before I tell you what I think about the book I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. I am 12 years old and I am very athletic, put me in any position in any sport and i will try to do my best. Although I'm a cheerleader, I can play any sport. Now I'll tell you what i thought about the book. The first emotion a felt was happiness. I was happy that Sam was home visiting with his family and that Tim was so excited to see him again. the emotion then turned into anger. Anger, that Sam could be so disrespectful to his father and not try to handle the discussion in a better way. I agree with Sam's Opinion on fighting. No one should be ruled by a King that dosn't have best interest for the people and that lives so far away. Hadn't there been a war we wouldn't be the United States of America, a free country. Well I hope to hear back from you soon and can't wait to chat about the chapters to come

Hi again, great to hear from everyone. I loved reading everyone's thought's on the first chapter.
When Mr. Meeker said, "But you never get rid of injustices by fihgting," I personally agree with him.
You can't get rid of injustices by fighting, you should calmly have a discussion and work things
out. Then Sam said, " Either we're going to be free or we're not." When Sam said that I felt that
the only way to be free was to fight. In this chapter,I felt that there wasn't a lot of information
to be so excited about, but I can't wait to talk to again about up comming chapters.
    Sincerly,

Hey guys, It's fun to hear how everyone feels about the book. In the 3rd chapter i feel that tim was
sad that Sam wasn't there but in the end he became happy because Betsy told him that Sam was home.
Speaking of Betsy I feel that she needs to leave Yim alone about the sitiuation with Sam and him
taking his fathers gun or which side Tim was going to choose.

Hey guys, great to see the pictures of everyone, we took pictures today so you should see them soon.
In the 4 chapter I agree with Tim I don't understand why Sam HAD to go fight. I feel so sorry for Mr Meeker
because he could get killed and Sam is only thinking of himself. Hope to hear from everyone soon.

In chapter 5, Tim saw what it was like to be investagated by the British rebels. For Tim's qoute
I feel that it doesn't matter if you're in the war or not it still affects you. My thoughts on
Mr. Heuron is that he likes to judge people. He judged Sam and Tim. I enjoyed the chapter and can't
wait to see what's to come!!!

In cahpter 6, I feel Tims actions were totally necessery, except lying and word choice but other wise
totally necessery. Idon't trust Mr. Heuron but I do trust him. It's weird cause he seems like nice guy
but you really never know. The only thing I'm going to say about Bestsy is creep and umm ewww. She
did all that for a letter and yet she couldn't tell Tim about his own brother.

In chapter 7, I think the war is not just affecting the family but really afecting Mr. Meeker.
Mr. Meeker was mad that he had to take Tim and not Sam to Verplanks, although Tim really wanted
to go. What's going on in the Middle East hasn't really affected my family. My overall thoughts
on the chapter is that some things happened but not enough to think " I can't belive that just happened,"
and I think I know what is going to happen in the next chapter and more chapters to come.

In chapter 8, Tim feels the war is bad and he also think the problems that they have, there are better
ways to solve them. Tim isn't sure of what side he is on. My view on the chapter is ok.
Yes, I am still on the patriots side because they know what they are fighting for and they won't
    stop fighting until they win.

In chapter 9 I feeel that Mr. Meeker is going to die and the cow-boys are going to kill him. This will
have a very emotional effect on Tim. Timm will be angery, sad, and many more emotions. My overall thoughts on
the chapter is good but I CAN'T wait to see what happens in the next chapter.

Tim said this because he didn't think England did anything wrong to him. He just doesn't understand
fighting. Lots of lives are lost in war and people want thing to go back to normal.

In chapter 10, Tim finally gets whats going on miles away from his home. When Tim saw Ned beheaded
it really hurt him and now he doesn't think he should be a Tory.

In chapter 11, when Tim says Sam is part of something big, he means that Sam is going to be part of history.
He is going to make history. I fell this chaptewr was a happy time for Mrs. Meeker and for Tim. I
can't wait to see what's going to happen in the next chapter.

In chapter 12, the satement, " In war the dead pay the debts of the living," this means that when you die in
war, you are paying for the bad things that the people who are living have done. My reaction is this chapter was
ok and I can't wait to read on!!!!

In chapter 13, Patrick Henry says one of the most famous lines in histor, "Give me liberty or give me death."
Patrick Henry voiced this statement because he felt that if the patriots won the war they would of defeated the British
and if they didn't win they would die.

This is my Patrick Henry Limerick:

Patrick Henry was a great man
yes in deed he took a stand
"Give me liberty or give me death,"
then he took his last breath
Patrick Henry was a great man.

    Epilogue Answer:
I feel that there was no other way to become a nation without the Revolutionary War. If we didn't have
the Revolutionary war, we would still be ruled by Britain and we would not have the same rights as we do today.
We would not have the Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, or the Bill Of Rights which is the backbone
of our country. Most important we would not have the ability to enjoy the freedoms that come with being an American
    citizen.

The novel definitely inspired me. It taught me how the opinion of one person can change the lifestyle of a whole
family. I highly recomend this book. This book shows you what being a patriot during the Revolutionary War was like. In order
to be true to one's beliefs, a patriot was willing to give up everything, their families and there own life. Being a partiot effected the entire family
even if the rest of the family were not patriot's, it was very sad to realize how families and friends were torn apart
    during this time.

The irony of Sam's execution is the fact that Sam was being executed for a crime he was trying to stop. It is similar because
both Sam and Mr. Meeker were executed by the sides they were loyal to.

This chapter made me sad. The political views of a father and a son that destroyed a family wound up killing both of them.
Leaving Tim and his mother alone and with terrible memories that will stay with them throughout the rest of their lives.
