BUS The first part of are trip was getting onto the bus that would take us to PEEC and back. On the bus ride we got to see the foliage of the area leading up to PEEC. Also during are bus trip we got to be acquainted with the students from Lavallette who we were going to be bunked with for the next few days of the trip.

TEAM BUILDING The first exercises we started with needed teamwork to succeed. We had to work as a team to cross the bog with wooden planks and then a "canyon" with floating carpets that would be stolen if left unattended. After that we were stuck in the Titanic and had to help one another through the porthole and get to the escape boats.

TWO PONDS Two Ponds Trail was the first time we went hiking since arriving at PEEC. On the trail we got to see both the ponds and the animals that lived nearby it. This was one of the first courses but we still got lost on the trail and ended up at the path for Tumbling Waters. There were a lot of breaks near the end due to us getting lost.

CONFIDENCE TRAIL The confidence trail was the first activity that involved a obstacle course we went on when we got to PEEC. On this course we had to traipse on a tight rope once with ropes to hold on and then on the second there were two ropes. After that we had to balance ourselves on a large log that was being held by wire to two others.

WILDLIFE We learned about the various animals, plant life, and insects such as beavers and black bears. One of the animals we could hear but not see was the bull frog an amphibian that has a distinct croak that can be heard from long distances. Some caterpillars were on the pine trees eating the forestation targeting the old growth but not the new growth.

BONFIRE Our bonfire was more of a campfire this year because the site for the bonfire was being used by another group. At the bonfire we ate smores as our guide tried to scare us with his "scary" story in front of the weak fire. The resources we had to make them eventually ran out and we had to head back to the cabins.

CANOEING In this activity we got too paddle in one the two largest lakes in the area and hopefully not tip our boats over. Our instructor gave life vests and paddles for our time canoeing in the light boats. Thankfully nobodies boat tipped over but we still got splashed by our partners who were in front of and behind us.

ORIENTEERING Orienteering was our first activity that we needed to use compasses to find our way around the area. We learned the three most important things Fred, Shed, and Red. If you could use these three components then you could find all the points from A to J using just the map and a compass.

STREAM STUDY We spent our time learning about the creatures such as amphibians and insects. We were all put into different groups given a bucket and a net. During our activity we caught a giant bull frog but we thought it might be a leopard frog and a newt that swam in the shallow 3 inches of water.

FOSSIL TRAIL In this trail we climbed a large incline and ended up near the original bonfire area. On the way we learned a little bit of history of PEEC. The area used to be a diary farm
