I was sooo excited. Finally we were on our way to Peec. As we met all of the people on the bus we automatically found friends. It was a very long bus ride though. But with all of the people on the bus you would never get bored. We ate snacks and watched movies. We had a lot of fun.

Team Building
We all worked together. Helping each other and trying to stay on a small platform, walking through a bog (metaphorically of course) but still held each other together and never forgot to have fun.

Two Ponds Trail
The Two Ponds Trail was a very long trail and not only because Mr. Kennedy misled us on our way back but because it was very far away from campus. The first pond was close to the campus and was kind of small but the second one was large and far away. Then on our way back Mr. Kennedy got us lost and we decided to follow a different trail which led us to the Tumbling Waters Trail which led us too campus so as you can see it was a very long hike.

Confidence Courses
The confidence course was amazing! Some were difficult some were easy but all helped you gain confidence whether it was walking across a wire hanging on to ropes or jumping from swing to swing trying not to fall off it was fun. The funniest one was walking across a swinging log with two people spotting you from each side. When we finished we all sat down on the log and swung back and forth it was pretty cool.

Wildlife
During this session we were taken outside and went for a hike to search for bear trakes, deer trakes, raccoon trakes and more! We found a tree with scratches on it and the guide said that a bear did that to either sharpen his claws or to scratch his back!

Bonfire
The bonfire was so much fun. We ate smores, hung out with friends, and warmed ourselves by the fire. The guide told us a story. You want to guess what it was here I will tell word for word what he said, “I was born!” then everyone broke out in laughter and happiness.

Canoeing
For my first time canoeing I must say that it was the best thing ever. Even though everyone on my canoe said it was the worst thing ever I thought that it was amazing. It was a bit of a hike to get to the lake though but it was defiantly worth it! But there were also bad parts like if you fall into the water you would be covered in leeches. Gross who would want that to happen to them? But thankfully no one fell in and everyone was safe and happy!

Orienteering
When we were given a compass and a map I was so scared to leave I had no clue what I was doing. When the guide explained to us how to use the compass and how to place it on the map I was the first to take a compass from my team and go out into the woods. At first it was kind of difficult but then we got the hang of it and found all of the spots on the map. We were the first ones to come back for new places every time! It was fun and exciting but Veronica and her team got lost and Mr. Kennedy and the guide went out to find them. When they finally found them they were ok and we hiked back to the campus.

Stream Studies
During the stream studies first we learned about the different types of lakes. Then we hiked down to a lake and began searching for frogs and newts and fish and we found all of those and we were even lucky enough to see a flying squirrel next to a bat box. This kid from Lavallette named Shayne would catch frogs and fish for every one it was really cool how fast he would move his hands to catch them. It was very educational.

Fossil Trail
The fossil trail was very interesting. On our way to see the fossils we saw a dried out well where cows drank from because the area where we were hiking used to be a farm. Then we got to the fossils which were on a log. There was also a hill on which everyone climbed up and we took a picture. But also in the middle there was a tree and that was the only tree that light shined on so it was pretty cool. The walk back seemed longer than the walk there but I think it was worth it.

Zelenka
Zelenka was entertaining and interesting. Mr. Zelenka did not only show you all of these animals but he also did magic tricks with the animals. I was called up to hold a rope with a few other people and then he placed a Anaconda on the rope. It was so difficult to hold the rope but we managed! He also brought this mouse and placed it on the floor and in a second out of his hands appeared a baby mouse! It was amazing!

Astronomy
During Astronomy we went in to two rooms and in one room we made planets and their moons out of play-dough. I was at first really fun and easy but then we got to our last drop of clay and we had to make so many more things out of it that we were getting really frustrated. But in the end it was really fun. In the second room we learned about the stars and how it goes from a stellar nursery, to a white star, then it explodes into a red giant, a dwarf star and, into a black hole and finally the remaining pieces go back to the stellar nursery.

Night Hike
The Night Hike was amazing. We walked into the woods in the dark and tried not to fall or trip by holding on to each other. We did this exercise, while there was still a bit of light, in which you look at someone on the opposing side of you and stare at their head. While you are staring at their head their head begins to disappear. It was really cool. When we finished we went further into the woods. We were really far in the woods when the guide stopped us and told us to close one eye and when we did she lit a candle and read a poem. When she finished and blew the candle out we opened our eye and everything was so blurry from that eye. When we restored our night vision she gave each of us a mint and a partner. Winter green mints and when we put it in our mouth and started chewing it our mouths started to glow. It was so cool! Then when we finished we walked all the way back to our cabin and had snacks it was really fun!
