REGULAR BOARD OF EDUCATION BUSINESS MEETINGS
With limited exception, Regular Business Meetings of the Bay Head Board of Education are in person on the second Tuesday of every month in the Bay Head School Gym. Please use the Gym entrance on Meadow Avenue. The list of each date is published on this website and in the requisite newspapers. Our Regular Business Meetings commence at 6:30 P.M. The board may have a need to enter into Executive/Closed Session at the start of the meeting. If necessary the board will state the reason and give an approximate time of when it will return to open session. In July and August, we commence our Regular Business Meetings at 4 P.M. There are two opportunities for Public Comment at each meeting.
The five-member Board of Education has switched to a Committee of the Whole structure. The purpose of Workshop Meetings, which are open to the public, is to enable all five Board Members to receive information at the same time from our administration, staff, contractors and vendors on matters we need to consider before taking official action. Deliberating on issues as a Committee of the Whole rather than only one or two Board Members will enhance our role as a policy-making unit and our collective focus on goals, oversight and long-range outcomes.
Workshop Meetings are held on an as needed basis. Notices will be published in accordance with the New Jersey's Open Public Meetings Act.
