Introducing the New Superintendent of Bay Head School, Dr. Adam L. Angelozzi

On August 8, 2023, the Bay Head Board of Education officially appointed Dr. Adam L. Angelozzi as the new Superintendent of Schools.

Dr. Angelozzi grew up in Little Egg Harbor, NJ, in Southern Ocean County. He spent his summer months lifeguarding for Long Beach Township Beach Patrol, and he graduated from Pinelands Regional High School in 1995. Dr. Angelozzi then attended The College of New Jersey, where he was an NCAA Division III wrestler while he studied to become a physics teacher.

After graduating from TCNJ with a BS in Physics, Dr. Angelozzi worked as a physics and chemistry teacher at New Egypt High School and served as the head varsity wrestling coach. From there, he took a job teaching physics and chemistry at the then newly-opened Barnegat High School, where he also started the wrestling program. In 2006, Dr. Angelozzi received an MA in Educational Administration from Rider University. Soon after, he was named the K-12 supervisor of science and technology for Barnegat Township Schools.

The first building-level leadership position Dr. Angelozzi held was at Freehold Township High School, where he served as an assistant principal for three years. He then assumed the position of principal at Manalapan High School for nine years. During that time, he also received a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Rowan University.

Outside of work, Dr. Angelozzi enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters. He loves watching his children participate in lacrosse, basketball, and the lifeguard in training program. Dr. Angelozzi also surfs on occasion and has involved himself in saltwater fishing over the past few years. As a former physics teacher and a self-proclaimed “science geek,” he thoroughly enjoys reading well-researched science fiction.

“I am excited to join the Bay Head School Community as the Superintendent,” Dr. Angelozzi said. “As I have come to know the area as the Superintendent of Point Pleasant Borough Schools, it has become apparent that Bay Head Elementary School is a unique place where students have extraordinary opportunities to grow and learn in a shore town. The prior Superintendent, Steve Corso, did a tremendous job laying the groundwork for the district's continued success. Furthermore, by maintaining a focus on student achievement and well-being, Bay Head Elementary School will continue to provide an exceptional educational experience for all students.”
