School Counseling Office

Contreras Family

Hi! I'm Molly, K-8 School Counselor at Bay Head School! This is my fourth year with the district and I am thrilled to continue to get to know the students and families in our community! I work with our kindergarten through eighth grade students on academic, personal, and social-emotional development. My goal is to help empower students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become caring, productive members of society. Ever since I could remember, it was a passion of mine to work within an educational setting to further help students succeed.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Substance Abuse from Ramapo College of New Jersey. Shortly after, I received my Master’s Degree in School Counseling at Monmouth University. I am grateful that my journey has led me to Bay Head Elementary and I am looking forward to a successful school year!

In my free time, I have an adventurous toddler named Max who keeps me busy and on my feet! I also love to listen to music, spend time with my family, cheer on the Yankees and eat endless amounts of sushi!

As the school counselor, it is important for me to connect and provide continuous support to my students and families. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions you may have or just to say hello and introduce yourself! I am looking forward to a great year! Go Sharks!

Anytime you are not at school, if you need emergency mental health support, tell a trusted adult near you and call 911, your local hospital emergency department, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at: 1-800-273-TALK (8255), or text "HOME" to 741741 - 2ND FLOOR: Youth Helpline

I visit each classroom multiple times throughout the school year and have the chance to interact with every student during these lessons.  Lessons typically last 30 minutes in length and cover topics such as school readiness skills, understanding feelings of self and others, problem solving skills, friendship skills, and study skills.
